White-Faced Gnu,Malaika on the Move,Leopard Tortoise and a Gnu's Carcass!

White Faced Wildbeest-Mara Topi plains on 8th.August 2012.This morning we set off looking for Moja and Nyota the lion cub with her mum but  In a herd of tens of thousands of wildebeest,one of them really attracted us,a baby wildbeest with a white on its face.I have never seen this before,a rare spot.The whiteed resembled a symbol of Love!

 Malaika with her cub-Near Rekero Camp on 8th.August.2012.At around 10:30 Am toda, after watching a leopard that has hanged a kill up a tree near main crossing we decided to have our picnic breakfast at a hippo pool opposite serena safari lodge ,we drove towards a place where malaika,a cheetah with her cub was spotted and lucky enough we found her,not many traffic as it was in the morning.It was getting too warm for them being on top of a termite mound,but all of a sudden mum spotted a female Thomson's gazelle in a distance,she marked where she was,went through croton bushes.At one point after she closed in,the cub decided to hide herself and let mum go and look for Breakfast-Lunch,mum tried her best but she was not succesful and she immediately went back calling her cub!

 Leopard Tortoise-One of the Little Five On 8th.August.2012.As we were heading back to our camp for lunch this tortoise was just by the road side,they are well comouflaged that they are not easily spotted.It is the commonest Chelonian in Mara together with the Marsh Terrapin!

A wildbeest Carcass-Maternity area On August.2012. We found some vultures on this carcass but they all take off after we slowly approached them,Vultures accompany the migration with the knowledge that wherever the wildebeest would be they must be killed and they will get something to scavenge on!,white-headed vultures where are you?

Malaika with her cub Near Lugga ya Maternity On 6th.August.2012.-On top of a termite mound,her vantage point,looking all around for the prey,and to ensure that they were on safe place,but look you are on Olive's, (The leopard) Territory.The cub was playing not knowing why her mum was up there.Good work Angel!

 Sacred Ibises -Mara Musiara Marsh on 6th.August.2012,before we arrived at where they were,there were more than 30 of them together with Cattle Egrets,what was the meeting all about?

 Defassa Waterbuck-Mara Musiara Marsh On 6th.August.2012.At one point,this waterbuck's baby was walking on her own,her mum was in a distant and it is here that a leopard was spotted in the morning,if i could speak their language i would have said to her "please go back to mum and dad because your enemy who is thirsty of your flesh is near here",Although waterbucks meat is not favored!

 Olive Baboons Mara Musiara Marsh On 6th.August.2012.  In here there was about 60 baboons all from one troop,all social groom,their common behavior,but of all these two were a few metres from the rest,what would they have been after?

 Paradise Pride-On 7th.August.2012.On the first photo,this male was waiting for the female to change her position,ready for mating.In about half an hour we saw the mating three times,but remember lions copulation takes less than 30 seconds!

 In action,she was covered by tall grass.

Great Migrations-Zebras and Wildbeests crossing Mara River

Zebras and Wildebeests Crossings-Mara Paradise Main Crossing point
This afternoon was of its own kind in that it is today that more than five thousands zebras cross the river,accompanied by about one hundred wildbeests.It is the first time that they cross in this big number at paradise main crossing towards mara triangle,an event which happens every year in that they will be cycling in between the Narok's and Mara Triangle's Mara Reserves and massive crossings expected tomorrow along mara river.Crocodiles were well fed,some were on the bank of the river and for them too they seemed to enjoy watching them as they swim across!
