The Great Migrations-Mara Talek River

Alfred.

The Great Migration.
This morning, tens of thousands cross the Talek River,it was very spectacular to watch them cycling around the entrances to the river as they could not cross it with alot of courage even though the river is not strong,it was today that they crossed in bigger numbers, and bigger crossings here in the next coming days,Earlier on we had spotted one nomadic male lion feasting on one of them, and there were other lions hunting them,Also malaika our favorite cheetah went for one baby wildebeest but she was not succesful, the wildbeeste was very brave to defend herself.Malaika's only cub was there watching mum going for breakfast, and at one point as she follow her mum try to offer little help, that for sure cubs of her age cannot do for they do not have any skills, but she was almost 'horned',Take care you cub,we need you in future.

Mara River Crocodiles.

Crocodile with the mouth opened, way of regulating their body temperature.
 Crocodiles fore toes.
Crocodile with its mouth closed, some teeth visible which is very opposite to Alligators.

Mara River Nile Crocodiles(Crocodylus niloticus)
Yesterday(2nd.Aug.2012),At paradise main crossing there were about 200 zebras on both sides of the river, who they wanted to cross the river but just on the banks of both sides there were massive crocodiles who they were basking on the sun and at the same time waiting for anybody who will come to the river to drink. It is at this time of the migrations that these crocs are very active,as they bring down zebras and wildebeest who cross the river from one side to the side for the greener pastures,in the absence of these migratory beasts they rely on the cat fish/Mud fish and any other animal that come close to the river. In the next few days i'll be sharing with some of their photos when on action!
